Ashford: Teenage boy arrested over County Square assault

Officers investigating a report of anti-social behaviour in Ashford have arrested a teenager.

The police were called to a report of a group of young people causing a disturbance in County Square during the afternoon of Tuesday, January 9.

Three men reported they were assaulted during the incident.

A 14-year-old boy from the Ashford area has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was also arrested in connection with a report of a burglary which took place at a property in Somerset Road, Ashford between 10.40am and midday on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Nothing was reported stolen.

The teenager remains in police custody.

Ashford Community Safety Unit Inspector Jason Atkinson said: "Our officers work closely with partner agencies on a regular basis regarding anti-social behaviour, and when offences are reported to us, enquiries will be made to identify those responsible, so appropriate action can be taken.

"Anyone who witnesses an incident or has any concerns, should call Kent Police on 101."
