Woman freed from car by firefighters on Kimberley Way, Ashford

A woman in her 20s was freed from her car this morning following a crash near a popular shopping spot in Ashford.

Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to a report that car had collided with a lamp post in Kimberley Way shortly after 10am.

Two fire engines attended the incident by Asda and the Ashford Designer Outlet.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the woman from the vehicle.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "The woman was treated for leg and back pain.

"She was fully conscious throughout but taken as a priority to the William Harvey Hospital."
