A 19-year-old Faversham man has been summonsed to court to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving, after a dog walker was knocked down on a zebra crossing.

The summons follows a crash on Whitstable Road, near the recreation ground, in Faversham on December 7 last year.

John Hobson, 61 (pictured), of Abbey Street, was taken to the Royal London Hospital with head injuries and later died at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford on January 15.

A man is due before Maidstone magistrates on August 8.
