Appeals after attacks on women

KENT Police are appealing for information after two women were assaulted in separate incidents.

In one incident, a 27-year-old woman was punched in the face during an apparently motiveless attack.

She was walking close to the Castle Street car park in Canterbury at around 12.20pm on Thursday when a man came towards her and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground.

The thug ran off in the direction of the underpass at Rheims Way. The offender is described as being a white man aged in his late 20s wearing a dark jacket and jeans.

Anyone who can assist police is asked to contact DS Vicki Tyler on 01227 762055.

Police also want to trace a man who kicked a 22-year-old woman in the leg as she walked through a public park in Canterbury.

The victim says the assault, close to the fountain in Dane John Gardens, was totally unprovoked. At the time she was walking towards Canterbury East railway station.

The offender is described as being aged about 30. He was wearing a red baseball cap, baggy navy jumper and navy tracksuit bottoms.

The incident happened at around 5pm on Sunday, December 11.

Anyone who can assist police is asked to contact PC Eleanor Miller on 01227 762055.
