Body pulled from River Stour in Canterbury

The body of a man has been pulled from the River Stour in Canterbury this morning.

Police were called to North Lane shortly after 6.30am to reports of the grim discovery in the water.

Officers have since taped off Miller’s Field Car Park and set up a tarpaulin tent.

Ambulance crews have also been called to the scene, and the man’s body was taken away shortly after midday.

Police are investigating and enquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened.
