A woman has been cut free from an overturned car on the A28 at the junction with the A252 at Chilham.

The road remains closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the incident which involved two cars and happened shortly before 12.30pm.

Firefighters had to use special hydraulic cutting equipment to get the victim out of the wreckage of the vehicle which ended up on its side near Chilham Sports Cars.

Paramedics treating the woman at the scene and she has been taken to hospital but it is not know how serious her injuries are.
