Officers appeal for information after teenager is raped in Toddler's Cove play area in Canterbury

Detectives investigating a reported rape in a children's play area in Canterbury have released a description of a man.

The alleged attack on a 15-year-old girl is said to have happened in Toddler's Cove, off Whitehall Road, shortly before midnight on Friday.

The offender is said to be aged around 30 and about 6ft tall. He had dark hair and is thought to have been wearing tracksuit bottoms and Nike top, possibly hooded.

The area was taped off while officers carried out an investigation of the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gossett said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and are supporting the victim through this distressing time.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the Toddler’s Cove area of Canterbury and saw anything suspicious, or who recognises the description, to contact us."
