Police have been helping in the search for a man thought to have gone missing from a mental health hospital.

Jonathan Read has not been seen since leaving St Martin’s Hospital in Canterbury last night.

His sister Bonita Hatton has posted a desperate appeal for help on Facebook, asking people to share news of Mr Read’s disappearance.

She said: “He is very mentally unwell. Police were out last night looking for him but he’s still not found.”

It is thought Mr Read – who is about 5ft 7ins or 5ft 8ins - was wearing blue jeans, a grey jumper with a red Adidas logo and black Nike trainers with an orange trim when he went missing.

Police confirmed they received reports a person had gone missing from St Martin’s at 8.55pm.
