Driver hurt after crash on Rheims Way, Canterbury.

An elderly man was taken to hospital after a crash on the city ring road.

It happened between a car and a van in Rheims Way near the allotments shortly after 10.15am yesterday.

The victim was unable to get out of the vehicle because of his injuries and firefighters and paramedics helped free him. He is not thought to be seriously hurt.

The incident caused long tailbacks on the ring road while emergency services dealt with the casualty and damaged vehicles.
