Five men have been arrested on theft charges after a two-day raid in Lynsted.

A team of 12 officers – including forensic crime scene investigators – searched two premises in Lynsted Lane on Friday and Saturday.

PC Daniel Holdstock said: “The extent of the land to be searched meant that officers remained at the scene for about 30 hours. We seized property including trailers, a caravan, vehicle parts, agricultural plant and vans.”

Two men from Faversham, aged 48 and 71, and a 20-year-old man from Maidstone, were arrested on suspicion of theft.

A 30-year-old man from Rochester and a 27-year-old from Sittingbourne were also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal.

All five have been bailed until April 28.
