Heavy rainfall and a hide tide this afternoon has resulted in river levels remaining high while further rain forecast for this evening is adding to the issue.

The wet weather is expected to continue until Friday evening, resulting in the high levels being maintained in the Great Stour into the weekend.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: “We are closely monitoring the situation and continue to operate Stonar Cut to minimise the impact.”

It will be continuing to monitor the situation and issue updates.
