Littlebourne Road crash near Canterbury Golf Club leaves four hurt in hospital

Two people have been taken to a London hospital in a serious condition and a further two to a local hospital following a crash today.

Emergency crews - including firefighters and two air ambulance teams - were called to the A257 Canterbury Road following the collision shortly after midday.

A blue Ford Fiesta heading towards the city collided with a black Land Rover Discovery travelling in the opposite direction near Canterbury Golf Club.

Investigating officer Sergeant Chris Wade, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.

Motorists heading out of the city were being diverted down Stodmarsh Road but the A257 has now been re-opened.
