Girl punched man who tried to kiss her

POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a girl of 16 was pushed against a wall by a stranger who tried to kiss her.

The girl was looking at her mobile phone as she walked along High Street St Gregory’s at Canterbury, just after midnight on Sunday.

She put it away and then found the man in front of her. Her face was scratched when he pushed her against the wall. The girl, from the Canterbury area, punched him and then ran home.

The man is described as being about 5ft 9ins tall, of skinny build with a shaven head or very short hair. He was wearing dark jeans, beige loafers and a dark top. The girl believes he may have been drinking.

Anyone with information or who saw the man is asked to contact PC Alan Pedwell on 01227 868211.
