Kent Police in Canterbury launch hunt after Mini driver hit with hammer by robbers in University of Kent car park

A driver has been hit on the head with a hammer by robbers who stole his car keys at the University of Kent campus in Canterbury.

The 21-year-old man had parked his Mini and was talking on his mobile phone in a car park in the Park Wood area when three men approached him last night.

His side window was smashed and he was hit on the head with the weapon.

The robbers grabbed his keys, but then fled on foot at about 7.30pm.

Police say the driver's injuries are not serious, but they are hunting three black men aged 18 to 20.
