Thieves smash their way into Sea Street Co-op in Herne Bay

Hooded thieves smashed their way into the Co-Op in Sea Street in Herne Bay and stole packets of cigarettes.

Two thieves were seen to break through the main window into the shop in the early hours of Monday morning while the shop was closed.

One was carrying a white bag which was filled with the stolen cigarettes. Then at 3.55am they were seen to drive away in a black car.

Deborah Clark, regional public relations manager for the Co-Op said: “CCTV images have been given to the police and, as with any incident such as this, we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.”
