Houses shake as fighter planes fly over Canterbury

Houses shook as four fighter planes flew over Kent this afternoon.

Rumbles were reported as the aircraft were spotted in the skies above Canterbury.

They were initially reported as RAF fighter jets but are now said to have been F-15s from the US Air Force.

kmfm reporter Joshua Coupe was in the cathedral city interviewing shoppers about new armed patrols when the planes soared overhead.

Becki McKeown was among others to spot the planes, which were taking part in routine flying operations and were later seen over Southend.

She tweeted: "Basically just wet myself with excitement as 4 fighter jets flew over. Aviation anorak Mondays."
