Two women were left trapped in their vehicles following a crash on the A260 at Denton.
They were freed by fire crews at around 2pm, placed in the care of paramedics and taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The key route near the Jackdaw pub close to Canterbury was closed as a result of the incident.
Motorists are now being advised the route is clear.
