Man found dead in Canterbury Lane public toilets

A 34-year-old man has died after he was found face down in public toilets.

Police and paramedics were called to the Canterbury Lane loos in the city centre after the man was discovered.

Local security guards are said to have joined paramedics in attempting to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police, who were called to the scene at about 2.40pm yesterday, say the man was from Canterbury and his next of kin have been informed.

The death is not the first in the council-run toilets.

In September 2014, Emma Slater, 37, died in the loos from heroin poisoning just months after having a child.
