Pedestrian taken to hospital after being hit by a car in New Dover Road, Canterbury

Police and ambulance crews were called out to a road in Canterbury after a man was hit by a car.

The emergency services were called out to New Dover Road, shortly before 4.45pm.

The man, who is not thought to have suffered serious injuries, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, in Ashford, for treatment.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed the man's injuries were not life-threatening, but did not have an age for him.

It is understood police were still at the scene at about 6pm and the accident happened near to Chaucer Court.
