Man cut free after car crashes and flips in Bishopsbourne

A man was left trapped after his car swerved off the road, span onto its side and smashed into a van.

Police, paramedics in two cars and two ambulances and three fire engines were called to Bonny Bush Hill in Bishopsbourne near Canterbury at around 11.30pm last night.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the man, who was then passed into the care of paramedics.

He was then taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with injuries not thought to be serious.

The crash blocked the road, but it was reopen by 12.40am.
