A motorcyclist died after crashing with a Serco van yesterday.

The man – in his 40s – was rushed to the QEQM Hospital after the smash near the Punch Tavern pub on Herne Bay Road at 1.15pm.

He was pronounced dead an hour later. The driver of the van is believed to be unhurt.

The road was closed between Broad Oak and Wildwood Animal Park and is expected to be shut for some time while serious crash officers investigate.
