Tributes to mum Natasha Alleyne from Canterbury who took her own life less than year after losing her younger sister to suicide

A mum-of-four has tragically taken her own life less than a year after losing her younger sister to suicide.

Natasha Alleyne, 28, was found dead at her home in Warwick Road, Canterbury, on October 30.

Her heartbroken family describe her as “a joy to be around”, but say her mental health took a turn after her sister Shannon Alleyne ended her own life at her home in Canterbury last November, aged just 22.

Natasha’s body was discovered following a night out with family and friends, and eight days before the first anniversary of Shannon’s death.

Her family said: “The heavens have gained yet another beautiful angel.

“Natasha was a beautiful soul - a right joy to be around.

“She was a mother to four beautiful children, one which she has joined in heaven.”

Natasha’s first child, a daughter named Indie Rose, was stillborn in 2010.

She leaves behind three other children - a seven-month-old daughter and two sons, aged three and seven - along with her mum Wendy and dad Tony, her older brother Reece and younger sister Jessica, a niece and three nephews, all of whom “miss her very dearly”.

Her siblings said: “Natasha struggled with her mental health, which worsened when our younger sister also passed away one year ago.

“We never know why this world is so cruel and lives are taken so young.

“Mum and dad are devastated to lose another daughter so soon after Shannon.”

Natasha’s family say they are “heartbroken”, and that Natasha will be “in their hearts forever”.

They add that they feel more must be done to raise awareness of mental ill health, and to help those who are struggling.

“Natasha loved singing and dancing around, being so happy and smiling everyday,” they said.

“No one would ever know she was struggling inside because she would always be so happy.

“She did so much for everyone around her, making sure everyone else was OK.

“No one would ever know she was struggling inside because she would always be so happy..."

“She was a right comedian, always making jokes and making people laugh.”

The family have set up a Gofundme page, through which they hope to raise £3,000 to give Natasha a fitting burial and lay her to rest with her little sister.

The page has so far raised more than £350.

An inquest into Natasha’s death has been opened and adjourned until March 7.
