The oldest church in continuous use in the English-speaking world is right here in Kent.

Dating back to 597AD, it is part Roman and part Saxon and is part of the Canterbury World Heritage Site along with the Cathedral and St Augustine's Abbey.

St Augustine set up his mission in the city, prompting St Martin's to be referred to as the first church of the Anglican communion, which now has 16,000 churches.

St Martin's Church is part of the Parish of St Martin and St Paul.

To visit the church walk to the top of North Holmes Road from the Canterbury Christ Church University campus or walk along Longport from St Augustine's Abbey and turn left into North Holmes Road after the prison site.
