Sixth man arrested after man was left with a broken jaw following an assault in Canterbury

A sixth man has been arrested today after a man was left with a broken jaw following an assault in Canterbury.

Five men from London were held on Friday after a man in his 40s was attacked outside a shop in the High Street on Saturday, September 27.

And today, a 44-year-old man from Greenwich was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Max Davidson of Kent Police said: "This was a serious, unprovoked assault and we have been working closely with the victim to ensure he is kept up to date with the investigation as it progresses.

"The incident took place on a busy Saturday afternoon when there were a lot of people in the area."
