Canterbury rhythmic gymnasts clinched two national titles at the British Duet & Trios Championships.

Joanna Matcham joined forces with sisters Hekla and Hulda Svavarsdottir to win the senior trio title, while Imogen Pike and Jordan Croucher claimed the junior duet competition.

Jael Gore, Emma Griffin and Robyn Bate were in the silver position in the under-12 trios.

During the regional grading competition held in London, 10 Canterbury gymnasts qualified for this month’s British Championships – the largest entry to the 2009 championships.

Those qualifiers are Abbie Wyver and Lottie Wittich (under-10), Robyn Bate and Emma Griffin (under-11) and Jael Gore (under-12). Imogen Pike, Jordan Croucher and Keziah Gore will all compete in the junior section and for the first time during their gymnastics career, sisters Hekla and Hulda Svavarsdottir will face each other in the senior category.

Additionally, Jessica Phillips, Millie Jerram, Chloe Picton and Alisha May qualified for the National Grades Finals – the British Intermediate Championships.
