Serious crash shuts A28 between Canterbury and Ashford

A key route linking Canterbury and Ashford was blocked in both directions following a serious accident.

Traffic had to be diverted off the A28 after a one-vehicle crash within a roadworks area near Pope Street.

An air ambulance was reported to have landed at the scene near Chilham.
