Teen robbed by gang near Canterbury church sparking police appeal

A teen was attacked by a gang who robbed him of his phone on New Year's Eve.

The 17-year-old had been walking near St Dunstan’s Church, Canterbury, at about 5pm when a group of people aged in their late teens and early 20s assaulted him and stole his mobile from his pocket.

Police have today issued an appeal for information about the robbery.

Investigating officer, PC Glenn Day, said: "Investigators have been completing enquiries in the area, including the examination of CCTV footage, and we would like to hear from anybody who witnessed the incident or saw the suspects.

"I would also appeal to motorists who were in London Road between 4.30pm and 5.30pm with dashcam, to check for any footage that may assist our investigation.'
