Woman freed from vehicle after crash in Church Lane, Nackington

A photo sent to KentOnline shows the aftermath of an apparent head-on smash between a black VW Golf and a Ford Transit van near Canterbury

A woman had to be freed by firefighters after the crash on Church Lane off Stone Street at Nackington.

Fire crews were called to the scene shortly after 6.30am yesterday.

They used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the woman, who was then handed to ambulance crews for treatment.

Two people were taken to hospital but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and traffic problems were compounded by a further collision on the A2050 Roman Road at 7.08am in which a white Peugeot van left the road.

No injuries were reported.
