A part of Canterbury city centre was cordoned off by police after the death of a woman found unconscious in public toilets this afternoon.
The woman was discovered in the loos in Canterbury Lane by a member of the public who flagged down a passing police patrol at 12.45pm.
It was reported she had passed out so one officer called for an ambulance while the other performed CPR.
Paramedics were unable to resuscitate her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The toilets remained secured while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding her death, which is being treated as "sudden and unexplained".
Police are thought to be reviewing CCTV footage of the surrounding area in the lead up to the woman's discovery.
