Woman in her 20s suffers fit at Canterbury East railway station

A woman was rushed to hospital after suffering a fit at Canterbury East railway station this afternoon.

The 29-year-old fell ill on the platform just before 1pm.

Police and ambulance crews were called, and the woman was taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

British Transport Police spokesman Kit Bradshaw said: "Our officers were called to Canterbury East railway station at 12.45pm after concerns were raised for a woman's safety.

"A 29-year-old woman was detained by officers and taken by ambulance to a local hospital for assessment.

"Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the incident."
