Scott Lawford scored a stunning goal as Canterbury City thrashed Staplehurst & Monarchs 4-1 in Vandanel Kent County League, Division 1 East on Saturday.
Lawford put City in front from long range after 24 minutes and the lead was extended on the hour mark through Dave Read.
Staplehurst were given hope when Joe Gallagher pulled a goal back for the visitors, but Royston Gough then made the game safe after grabbing Canterbury’s third before Read added his second late in the game.
Canterbury remain joint top of the table with AFC Sheppey but have three games in hand. City are at home to Guru Nanak on Saturday.
