Arrests following drug raid

Two men from Dartford have been arrested after cannabis worth a street value of half a million pounds was seized from a derelict social club.

The discovery of about 800 plants was made by bailiffs who went to the Sturdee Sports and Social Club outside the village of Hoo, near Rochester with a repossession order.

The men, aged 43 and 37 have been bailed until August 5 pending further enquiries.

The raid at the ramshackle prefab is through to be one of the biggest of its kind in Kent.
