Daring members of the Dartford Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (DAODS) are getting their kit off for their latest play.

During their first nude rehearsal for Calendar Girls, the ladies covered their modesty with carefully positioned copies of the Dartford Messenger

The play, a bitter sweet comedy about the ladies of the Women’s Institute posing nude for a charity calendar, opens at Heathfields Hall on July 8 and runs until July 13.

It is being directed by Fred Hall, chairman of DAODS.

DAODS has been in the town since 1906 with its first performance of The Mikado over four evenings at the Conservative Hall in Spital Street in April 1907.

The next show is Chess running in October at Heathfields Hall.
