A man was airlifted to hospital after falling off a bridge over the A2 near Dartford Heath earlier today.

Police were called just after 5pm to the Londonbound carriageway between the Dartford Heath turning and Willmington turn-off.

The man is thought to have fallen near the crash barrier, and was said to be conscious and breathing.

He was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in London, with all roads reopened just after 6pm.

It comes just hours after a woman died after falling off the QEII bridge in Dartford just hours earlier.
