Long queues on M25 at Dartford Tunnel again due to crash near Lakeside in Essex

A crash at the Dartford Tunnel caused long delays this afternoon.

The accident brought traffic to a halt on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 at Junction 31 near Lakeside.

It caused heavy congestion near the Crossing again with queues stretching back towards Junction 3 for the Swanley Interchange.

Traffic was diverted via the distributor road which runs next to the main carriageway.

An earlier accident in the tunnel also hit journey times.

It comes after drivers faced hours of gridlock traffic on the same roads yesterday after a lorry's trailer detached.

All lanes are now reopened.
