Delays have cleared on the A2 after an earlier crash involving a van and car.

The accident happened at the Bean interchange, which is the turn-off for Bluewater, with traffic trailing back to J2 of the M25 for the Darenth interchange.

Police and fire teams were called to the scene.

Lane three on the opposite carriageway was also closed due to the van involved in the accident hitting the central reservation.

An investigation was carried out and the vehicles involved were recovered.

Tailbacks had cleared by 12.30pm.
