Emergency gas works cause closure of Dartford's A225 Princes Road between Park Road and A282 roundabouts

A gas leak has caused traffic chaos in the county.

The A225 Princes Road in Dartford was shut this morning between the M25/junction 1B/A282 roundabout and the Park Road roundabout.

As a result, traffic is queueing on the M25 anticlockwise, with congestion stretching back to junction 3 for the M20.

The slip road for junction 1B is closed due to the Princes Road closure and the distributor road which runs parallel to the M25 to get into Dartford is also shut.

Kent County Council's highways department has advised drivers to find an alternative route.
