Queues on M25 after crash near Dartford Crossing

A Romanian lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a Maidstone motorcyclist in a crash on the M25 this morning.

The motorway was closed just before the Dartford Crossing on the Essex side, following the serious crash which happened just before 6am.

Essex Police confirmed a biker, aged in his 50s, suffered serious injuries and died.

A female lorry driver, aged in her 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

She remains in police custody being interviewed by officers.

Traffic queued back for eight miles after the accident between J30 for the A13 and J31 for West Thurrock.

All lanes had re-opened by 12.30pm.
