Yann Kermorgant returned to haunt his former club as Charlton won 2-1 at promotion hopefuls Leicester on Tuesday night.

The Frenchman, pictured, scored one and made the 78th-minute winner for substitute Danny Haynes that lifted Charlton to 12th place in the Championship.

Kermorgant silenced the home fans' boos by opening the scoring from Bradley Pritchard's cross on 19 minutes.

Chris Wood levelled on 69, but Kermorgant's flick found Haynes whose dipping left-foot volley flew past Foxes keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Addicks boss Chris Powell, who saw his side lose 1-0 at Hull on Saturday, was delighted with a first win in five games.

He said: "We lost a closely-fought game on Saturday so coming here we were under no illusion that this was a really tough game for us.

"But I felt the players applied themselves very well and Yann, scoring when coming back to his former club, took his goal really well. I thought he was exceptional on the night.

"Then there was a wonder goal to win it in the end from Danny Haynes and we are very pleased to come away with three points."
