Part of the M25 was closed for over eight hours after a smash involving two lorries.

A 46-year-old man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital suffering from leg injuries after the accident on the clockwise carriageway between junctions 30 and 31, near the Dartford Crossing.

The road was closed after the crash, which took place at around 4.30am Sunday, causing traffic problems.

It reopened shortly after 1pm once a forensic investigation had been carried out and the lorries recovered.

According to a police spokesman, the injured driver is in a stable condition.
