27-year-old Ross Bryant from James Road, Dartford charged over alleged hit-and-run crash in New Ash Green

A Dartford man has been charged in connection with an alleged hit-and-run collision in which a 56-year-old granddad died.

Ross Bryant, 27, of James Road faces charges of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving while having no licence or insurance.

He is further charged with failing to stop after the accident in New Ash Green on November 28 last year and failing to report it to police.

Bryant will appear before Dartford magistrates on Thursday April 28.

He was arrested on November 29 with two teenage boys, a 17-year-old from Swanley and 16-year-old from Dartford. The teenagers have since been released without charge.

Martin Ginnelly was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash between a Ford Explorer and Ford Ka in Ash Road at the junction with New Ash Road.

At the time family friends paid tribute to Mr Ginnelly, the driver of the Ka, describing him as a "big friendly giant".

His family said in a statement: "Our family has lost the most wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather".
