Swanscombe man charged with attempted rape and ABH in Dartford

A Swanscombe man has been charged with attempted rape and actual bodily harm after a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted.

During the incident, which is said to have taken place in Dartford between 1pm and 2.30pm on October 26, he allegedly attempted to rape the victim, a woman in her 20s, before beating and throttling her.

He was arrested and charged with attempted rape of a woman over the age of 16, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, attempting to choke/suffocate/strangle in order to commit an offence, criminal damage and cannabis production.

Sean Summers, 27, of Broomfield Road, appeared at Medway magistrates court on Tuesday and was bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 15.
