Driver arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after A2 crash with motorcyclist at Bean

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a separate crash on the A2 near Bean, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

It comes after a black Yamaha YBR 125 motorbike was involved in the accident with a a light blue Ford Focus on the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 at around 1.25am today.

The road was closed between the junction for Bean and the A2260 while officers carried out an investigation, but it reopened at 9.35am.

The motorcyclist, a man aged 51 and believed to be local, has been taken to King’s College Hospital in London with serious head injuries. His family have been informed.

Police are keen to speak to two drivers, thought to be behind the crash at the time.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is in police custody.
