Stephen Knock of Ightham Close, Longfield, named as man shot in South Darenth

A man believed to have shot himself during a stand-off with police has been named as Stephen Knock.

Mr Knock, 47, of Ightham Close, Main Road, Longfield, died from a shotgun wound to the head at a property in the Mill estate in Esparto Way, South Darenth, on Monday, July 28.

A 45-year-old woman suffered serious knife injuries during an assault at 10.30am that day.

The inquest into Mr Knock's death was opened and adjourned by the North West Kent Coroner's office.

The full hearing will be held on Thursday, November 13 at the Old Town Hall in High Street, Gravesend.
