Man hit by van in London Road, Stone, near Dartford

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a van near Dartford.

The 31-year-old was knocked over by a white Citroen Relay van in London Road, Stone, at around 8.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to King's College Hospital in London with a severe head injury.

Police now want witnesses to the incident, which happened between the junctions of Brent Way and Mile Stone Road.

The carriageway was closed until midnight.

The police's serious collision investigation unit want to hear from anyone who saw the collision or either the van or the pedestrian beforehand.
