Man 'threatened to jump from bridge' in The Brent, Dartford onto busy carriageway during school rush

A man was believed to be threatening to jump from a bridge onto a busy road this afternoon, causing disruption for school-run parents.

The A282 towards the Dartford river crossing was closed for a short while after a man was seen standing on the outside of the barrier on The Brent bridge.

Police were called at 2.22pm after reports of concern for the man's welfare, and said that the man has now moved to safety and is in the care of paramedics.

All roads in the area are now open.
