Police and fire crews help free man trapped in car following crash in St Margarets Road, Dartford

A man was freed from a car after it collided with another vehicle and flipped onto its side in Dartford.

The crash happened in St Margaret's Road, South Darenth at about 10.30am.

Emergency services including police, paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene to find one of the cars had overturned.

Crews stabilised the car, which allowed them to remove the rear seats and safely free the trapped man from the vehicle.

He was treated by ambulance teams before being taken to hospital.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a reported two-vehicle collision in St Margarets Road, South Darenth, at 10.34am on Saturday 19 March.

"Secamb and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also called and a man has been taken to a local hospital.

"The collision did block the road and a closure was enforced between Homesdale Hill and Green Street Green Road until 11.57am."
