Lorry crashes into Dartford Crossing gantry causing miles of tailbacks

All lanes in the Dartford Crossing tunnels are now open after a lorry crashed into an overhead gantry at the Dartford crossing.

Two lanes of the M25 were closed earlier after the crash on the anti-clockwise section between J1a for Swanscombe and J31 for West Thurrock.

Queues are stretching back to J4 for the A21 at Orpington, while emergency repairs are carried out.

The left-hand tunnel was closed after the lorry struck the gantry at the tunnel entrance.

But all lanes are now open and delays are said to be clearing.

Engineers were sent to the scene to repair the gantry.
