Witnesses of crash near Dartford Crossing urged to come forward by police

Police are urging motorists who witnessed a five vehicle crash to come forward.

The M25 clockwise carriageway near Dartford and the A282 south between Junctions 1A and 2 for the Darenth Interchange were shut after the collision involving two lorries, two cars and a car transporter.

Three people were taken to hospital after suffering facial injuries following the crash which happened on the clockwise A282, near Junction 1b.

Police say the lorries involved in the incident at 12.24pm on Wednesday both had white cabs and had been manufactured by Volvo and DAF respectively.

The vehicles involved were a white Renault Captur, a blue Honda Jazz and a DAF car transporter.

The force's roads policing unit are investigating the circumstances and believe there are "several witnesses who may have witnessed the collision that are yet to speak with an officer".
