A police helicopter helped track down two men alleged to be in possession of firearms in Greenhithe this afternoon.

The men were found carrying air weapons in a wooded area near Watling Street.

Police had been called at 2pm and there were sightings of the helicopter and response team near Darent Valley Hospital.

A spokesman for Kent Police said no offences have yet been disclosed and that no arrests have been made.

Police are still in the area relating to what is thought to be a separate incident.
